What is Sidekick Tri?

Sidekick Tri is a fun, inclusive, Paralympic-distance triathlon created for Super Partners, Charity Friends & their networks. It takes place on 14 August 2026 at Dorney Lake & kicks off the Superhero Tri ’26 weekend, helping to raise vital funds to power Superhero Series events.

Who can take part?

Sidekick Tri is exclusively for Super Partners, Charity Friends and their networks. Individual Sidekicks can take part solo or as part of a team.

What is the race distance?

Sidekick Tri follows the Paralympic distance:

  • 750m swim

  • 20km bike

  • 5km run

Participants can complete the full triathlon individually or enter as a team of three, with one person completing each leg.

Do I need triathlon experience?

No. Sidekick Tri is designed to be accessible, supportive & fun, whether you're tackling your first triathlon or are an experienced competitor.

Can I enter as a team?

Yes. Teams of three Sidekicks can enter together, with each person completing either the swim, bike or run. Team entries are ideal for colleagues, friends or charity groups.

Where should I meet my team?

There is no designated meeting point, so feel free to arrange to meet your teammates wherever works best for you. Dorney Lake is easy to navigate, & the large registration marquee provides plenty of space to meet indoors, or just outside if you prefer.

How much does it cost to enter?

  • £70 for individual entry.

  • £100 per team (team of three).

Is there a fundraising requirement?

Yes. Each Sidekick commits to a minimum fundraising target of £150 for Superhero Series. Any additional funds raised can support a charity of your choice. Fundraising support & resources will be provided.

What's included with my entry?

Every Sidekick receives:

What time should I arrive?

Participants can arrive from 12:00pm, when registration opens. We recommend arriving in plenty of time to register, set up in transition & attend any pre-race briefings before your allocated wave. The first wave is scheduled to start at 1:30pm. A full event timetable will be available on the website closer to the event.

Will I need to purchase a British Triathlon day licence?

No. Sidekick Tri is not being run under British Triathlon Federation (BTF) rules, so participants do not need to purchase a British Triathlon day licence to take part.

When will I receive my race number, timing chip and swim hat?

Your race number, timing chip & swim hat will be issued at registration on event day. Please arrive in plenty of time before your allocated wave to collect your race pack & prepare for the event.

How will the wave starts work?

Participants will be allocated to one of two start waves. The first wave will start at 1:30pm. Your allocated wave will be confirmed in your pre-event race information.

How will the swim start?

All participants will start the swim from in water mass start (Deep). Full details of the start procedure will be provided during the race briefing before your wave.

Can people with disabilities take part?

Sidekick Tri follows the inclusive ethos of Superhero Series. If you have a disability or specific requirement, please contact us in advance so we can discuss how best to support you.

Do I need a wetsuit?

A wetsuit is recommended for the swim. Final guidance will be shared closer to event day in line with safety & water temperature regulations.

Can I wear hearphones or ear buds on the course?

Participants are not permitted to wear headphones or earbuds anywhere on the course including tranistion. This is for everyones safety.

When will I receive my race information?

Start times, wave information & arrival details will be sent closer to the event via email & published on the website.

Can I change my entry details?

Entry changes may be possible up to a certain point before the event, subject to availability. Full details will be provided during the booking process.

What if I can no longer take part?

Entry fees are non-refundable, as outlined in the event terms & conditions. If you're unable to attend, please contact us for guidance on your options.

How do I get to Dorney Lake?

Travel and parking information can be found on our Venue Information page & will also be shared before the event to help you plan your journey.
